Flight of the Butterflies

The Flight of the Butterflies IMAX film tells the story of Dr. Fred Urquhart and the discovery of the amazing monarch butterfly migration. In addition to it's amazing footage and unique IMAX experience, this film provides a great opportunity to engage teachers and students in scientific inquiry and conservation actions. Monarch Lab staff have served as scientific advisors for the film and have partnered with Flight of the Butterflies to provide full-day workshops for teachers and educators in association with viewing the film. These workshops have occured at locations throughout the country and have covered many topics, including an in-depth look into the monarch life cycle and migration, safe rearing of monarchs and other insects in the classroom, and engaging students in scientific inquiry.
